An ephilis (freckle) is different from a lentigo. The basic difference is quite technical, but one difference is that a lentigo is not affected by sunlight while an ephilis (freckle) is.
The plural of ephilis is ephilides (eff-EE-li-dees), and the plural of lentigo is lentigines (len-TIJ-i-nees).
